## The iGaming Industry Faces a Critical Talent Gap – Hiring – iGB
The iGaming sector is experiencing a significant talent scarcity, which is driving up compensation and hiring expenses. This presents a substantial hurdle to industry expansion.
The iGB-Pentasia Compensation Survey revealed that average salaries within the sector climbed by 12% in the year ending June, with some salaries now surpassing 25% of the previous year’s levels.
Alastair Cleland, Managing Director of Pentasia, stated that companies with hiring backlogs are compelled to offer competitive compensation to attract skilled individuals.
Cleland mentioned that the demand for technical skills and expertise is at an unprecedented peak, posing a fresh challenge for recruiting firms.
Compensation for compliance and legal positions surged by 26%, as regulatory advancements continue to exert upward pressure on these roles.
Sales salaries also rebounded after a pandemic-induced downturn, increasing by 26%.
However, Cleland indicated that long-term solutions to the talent shortage are materializing.
“‘People-centric’ leaders have been the most sought-after recruitment targets in 2021; employers recognize the importance of fostering a work environment that individuals desire to be a part of,” he remarked.
