A prominent gaming and lottery corporation, Scientific Games, has purchased Camelot Lottery Solutions Group. Formerly held by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, Camelot LS Group is based in Chicago.

This acquisition holds weight as Camelot LS Group, via its operating arm Camelot Illinois, oversees the Illinois Lottery. This positions Scientific Games as a key force in the American lottery sector. Beyond Illinois, Camelot LS Group also collaborates with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery and furnishes technological answers to lotteries throughout North America and Europe.

Significantly, Scientific Games has stressed that they will keep Camelot LS Group’s executive team. This implies a seamless integration and an emphasis on utilizing the current proficiency within Camelot. The CEO of Camelot LS Group, Wayne Pickup, conveyed assurance in the purchase, underscoring the mutual dedication to responsible expansion and optimizing income for the populations they support.

The purchase of the Camelot LS Group, anticipated to close in early 2023, marks a major foray into the American market for Allwyn. Upon fulfillment of standard closing terms, the agreement grants Allwyn complete control of the firms.

Robert Chvátal, Allwyn’s chief executive, stressed the significance of the US market for the company’s expansion, calling the Camelot LS Group acquisition a substantial step forward.

Chvátal reiterated Allwyn’s dedication to elevating the lottery experience through technological advancements, efficiency, security, and innovation. He posits that by boosting player participation, they can ultimately contribute to increased fundraising for charitable initiatives. Both Allwyn and Camelot possess a shared enthusiasm for the lottery sector and are committed to delivering value to their clientele while optimizing returns for the public good.

This development follows Allwyn’s successful tender to manage the UK National Lottery in March 2022, succeeding Camelot after their 28-year tenure.
